The annual supporters' club dinner is to be held at the stadium on Friday February 11th, 2011, the weekend of the Derby. The dinner is to be a tribute to Neil Young who has cancer. The ticket price is £35 with an option to pay £40 with the extra £5 going towards the Neil Young/Cancer charity.

HEYWOOD BLUES

MINUTES OF THE 2010 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE MANCHESTER CITY SUPPORTERS’ CLUB (1949) HEYWOOD BRANCH HELD ON SATURDAY JULY 10TH, 2010 AT THE HEYWOOD PUBLIC HOUSE

Chairman: Mr Mark Hutchinson
Committee present: Michael Johnson, Phil Weatherilt, Michael Horrocks, Neil Hutchinson, Barbara Whitehead

Meeting opened: 2.15pm

Chairman’s Opening Remarks.
The Chairman opened the meeting and welcomed members for attending.

Apologies received.
Gordon Kay, John Armstead.

Approval of the 2009 AGM Minutes.
Mark requested if anyone had any queries from last year’s AGM. There were none so the minutes were taken as being accurate.
Moved: Neil Hutchinson, Seconded: Mick Grogan

Treasurer’s Report.

Mark went through the accounts and said we had a good season making an overall transport loss of £48 on the previous season, which was better than the £60 last season. The redeeming factor once again was the raffle, which gained £1,096 which was well up on last season. Thanks were given to Barbara for the efficient running of the raffle yet again. The overall profit was £170.50 although Mark mentioned the loss on tickets and the 60th anniversary dinner. He said he would mention these later.
Moved: Neil Hutchinson, Seconded – Paul Needham

Membership report and PRO.

Mick did the membership report. He said numbers were up on last season, having 126 as opposed to 103 which was very good. Membership fees for this season are as last year; i.e. £5 adults and £2.50 juniors/OAPs. See Mick for your new cards if you haven’t yet got yours. He said that due to the merger of the Official Supporters’ Club and the Centenary Supporters’ Association, there is now only one supporters’ club recognised by the Club. They have set up a new website which is at http://www.mcfcsc.com/ and our page from the previous website has been moved there. We also have our own website at http://heywoodblues.blogspot.com/. Mick asked for any contributions to our website. If anyone has anything please see him after the meeting.
Moved: Neil Hutchinson, Seconded: Derek Eccles

Social report

We had a successful trip to Haydock Park races when 29 members went. Mark thanked Justin and Sharon for the breakfast before and the food upon our return. This is now an annual event. Also, we have sponsored Heywood Cricket Club to the tune of £500. We are again sponsoring the first team home match which this year is v. Walsden on the Saturday 31st July. It is around £18 per head. Mark mentioned the 60th Anniversary Dinner which was a great success except the loss on tickets. We ordered 2 tables of 9 but only 11 people went and subsequently, we didn’t get our celebrity who was to have been David White. The loss was £280.
Moved: Neil Hutchinson, Seconded: Phil Weatherilt

Transport.

Mark had not yet got the prices from Rothwells but expected them to be similar to last year hopefully. Mark mentioned that as we are in Europe again, is it feasible to run a big coach to the home games bearing in mind we lost £660 in the last European campaign. It was agreed that this will be looked at after the first home game. Mention was made about the time the coach leaves which has been 1½ hours before the game for a long time. With there being more traffic, should we go earlier or go a different route. Phil Wev changed the route for the last few games to go down Lightbowne Road which was a quicker way than going down Queens Road. We can’t really leave earlier for night games but it was suggested on weekend games, we might go earlier. This will be looked at after the first weekend game. Mention was made about what benefit members have if non-members get on the coach. It was pointed out that members always have priority and non-members would have to get off if there was no room. A flyer will be given out at the first game stating this.
Moved: Michael Johnson, Seconded: Neil Thorp

Ticket Allocations.

Mark spoke at length regarding the number of tickets ordered for away games but not paid for by people who cried off. We lost at least £584 as noted in the statement of accounts and he has a pile of unused tickets at home including seven for the last game at West Ham. He pointed out that none of the people who owed money were at the meeting. The system last year didn’t really work and so a proposal was made that a £50 bond be paid before the start of the season i.e. 14th August, refundable at the end of the season if all tickets for tickets ordered through the club had
been paid for. If a person did not go to a match, the bond would be used for that ticket. People could still go on the coach if they got their own tickets. Also, if anyone ordered a ticket and couldn’t go, the ticket can only be passed to another member of the club or, if not a member, that person has to join.
Moved: Neil Hutchinson, Seconded – Michael Johnson

Re-election of officers:
This was forgotten.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS:

Bob O’Keefe thanked the committee for their sterling efforts over the last 12 months.

Mark mentioned that the supporters’ club is supporting an appeal in Sierra Leone, the world’s second poorest country, to provide a minibus and football kit to a football team set up. Any donations should be through the club. Further details are on the supporters’ club website.

There being no other business Mark closed the meeting at 3.10pm.

Number of members present: approx 35.
